A 54 year old Saudi-Arabia bound pilgrim and mother of four has been arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos (MMIA) by eagle eyed officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) .
Owolabi Oluwayemisi Modinat who is an indigene of kwara State had ingested 32 wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine and weighing 330 grammes. She was nabbed during the outward screening of passengers on a Qatar Airways flight to Saudi- Arabia.
The suspect who earns a living by hawking tea and bread in Lagos told NDLEA investigators that she decided to embark on the mission because of the difficult financial situation she found herself, after her tea business failed.
She added that a certain man paid her N300,000 to smuggle drugs to Saudi-Arabia under the pretext of going on pilgrimage.
